A novel human coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in Wuhan, China, in late 2019 and is now causing a global pandemic of the CoVid-19 disease. The spread of the disease has resulted in a sharp rise in the production and consumption of single-use plastics, such as food packaging and medical products.
